| Buell Mike served in the Navy Reserve and was
ordered to Active Duty aboard the USS Bennington in Vietnam.
Mike was a Fire Control Technician which meant that he helped aim, operate and fire the 5-inch 38s that the ship had
in their arsenal. The USS Bennington was a carrier that was home to S2E and
Willy Fudd aircraft as well as the E1B Helicopters and A4
attack planes. They served in the Gulf of Tonkin. Buell Mike also served on the
USS Twining early in his Reserve career.
He says that he remembers some really good times, and is thankful that he got to see so much of
the world while serving in the US Navy.
Of course Buell Mike rides a Buell motorcycle (a Cyclone that he has modified just a bit) and enjoys riding and spending time on the farm with his wife of 20+ years Wendy, and their daughter Laura. |
